Some really great melodic tunes. Sweet Summertime, Youth in Revolt and the first single Believe in it, just great rocking songs. The re recording of the older tunes are good, not too much different, Kind of sound sonically heavier, and just like live versions pretty much. The last track Out here all night is a cover tune they were playing a few years ago, and it was a nice surprise to hear that recorded!! Thanks guys...keep on keepin on! 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful This review is from: Love Stories & Other Musings (Audio CD) Considering this new Candlebox cd was recorded in a mere 17 days between recent tours, I'd say they did a pretty darn good job on it. I really enjoyed their previous recording "Into the Sun" far more than I ever expected, so hopes were high that this new recording would equal or surpass that cd.I'm usually a person who needs at least 3 good songs on a cd to justify me buying it, but after enjoying their last effort so much I just jumped right in with this new cd. I like better than Lucy, but sure it is quite as good as others, and yes, Into the Sun was great. The Cd could have had a few more original songs as it is not like the songs are super long. But you know what, many say Slayer's Angel of Death is one of greatest thrash cds, and yet that clocks in like a 1/2 hr. The CD also could be heavier or more instrumental like Breathe Me In, but there are a few that do rock out.But with all the said, I think all the new songs are good. Not a bad track on here and some real good ones. I think Kevin sounds great, but then again he always does. The more I keep cranking this out, the one I like it. I guess it sounds like a more mature Candlebox in some respects. And in the rock world, this is honestly one of the best things out there. I'm usually happy with 3-5 good songs on a cd and I got 9, plus reversions of some classics. Great CD "I've been left... Read more |
