This review is from: The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Astor Piazzolla (Audio CD) I first heard a selection of this music on a classical station. Had to have it. After listening to the CD, I am totally addicted. I will have to find more CD's like it! 3 of 7 people found the following review helpful By This review is from: The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Astor Piazzolla (Audio CD) This is a beautiful CD. Many talented artists. Especially theclarinet player. |
2010 album from the Southern California Metal/Hardcore crossover act. Powerless Rise was produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and mixed by legendary producer Colin Richardson.

Their new album "The Powerless Rise" is just absolutely amazing and mindblowing in every sense of the word, I just love it. Yeah I know alot of so called true metalheads will dismiss AILD as another "trendy" metal band and that's fine with me, but these guys are getting the respect they deserve, and they sure do deserve every bit of it. I've been a fan of AILD for the past five years since I've first listened to both "Frail Words Collapse" and "Shadows Are Security". They're truly one of the best bands in modern metal today, and they just keep getting better and better with every album they put out, and this new album proves exactly that. "The Powerless Rise" is a blistering, savage, no holds barred metal thrillride of mad, thrashing guitars, relentless drums,... I got into this band about a year ago, and have listened to their entire catalog nonstop. Anyone giving this album below 3 or 4 stars should just be ignored. I will say, this album does take more time to grow on you than their other albums. Oceans Between Us I felt like was amazing the first listen and still is. This album, as another reviewer mentioned, came off as "dry" to me the first time through. The music is much more complex though, and it took several listens for me to really take it all in. I can now listen to this album all the way through with more ease than almost any album I own. This was a 3 star album based on first impressions, but after listening regularly for a few months it is now without a doubt a 5 star album. Give it time. |

This review is from: Very Best of Arvo Part (Audio CD) Nothing is as easy and enjoyable as listening to the best music to feel good. And to me Arvo Part is the most enjoyable music there is. First it's not like some classical music where you have to sit through it and it can kind of ware on you after a little while (I'm not knocking critical music I'm just saying). Arvo Part's music is so sublime, so peaceful, it never gets old. And unlike alot of 'Best Of' albums this one is pretty close to it. The only song it's missing which is my favorite is 'Da Pacem Domine.' If you buy this cd but still want more Arvo afterwards buy 'Da Pacem Domine.' Only one song you'll get twice 'Magnificant.' If you do buy this 'Best Of' 2 cd set your kind of stuck if you want all his works unless like I said you buy the 'Da Pacem Domine' album. And that cd with these cds is a pretty hefty collection of Arvo Part to start out with. David R. Hawkins talked about in his book 'Power Vs. Force, how with Kinisiology humans can now measure the conciousness... Read more 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Very Best of Arvo Part (Audio CD) Indeed, this album does cover some of the very best of Part's music. I recommended that Part's music fans should have this in their music library. 2 of 7 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Very Best of Arvo Part (Audio CD) Marvelous music of Arvo Part. It has shadings of midevil music while being modern. It almost reminds me of Philip Glass in it's structure. Lots of times a melody is built upon like Phillip Glass music but the music of Arvo Part is all his own. It has that mystic feeling of midevil music and an antique feeling as if it was composed in the 1300's. Yet it has the starkness of modern times in it. Definately late night Holy music if there is any such item.'s |
